Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has become known as one of the most effective martial arts in existence today. It's effectiveness has been proven in the sport arenas of mixed martial arts competition as well as in law enforcement and select elite military units. It's techniques have been "absorbed" by many to complement their own personal martial art.

The Analytical Fighting System's program of martial arts and self-defense is heavily influenced by BJJ for it's training in grappling or self-defense on the ground or any lying position. This Brazilian martial art is known for it's ability to enable a person to defend themselves against someone much larger and stronger than them. It relies heavily on principles of leverage and allowing you to use your opponents energy and strength against them.

Erik Paulson

Sensei Erik Paulson is known as a virtual encyclopedia of submission wrestling. He was training with the Gracie brothers when they were still teaching out of their garage. His own system, "Combat Submission Wrestling", is a combination of BJJ, Shooto, and his many other grappling influences. Sensei Paulson was also the undefeated light-heavyweight Shootwrestling World Champion for 5 years before retiring to pursue other titles and goals.

Sifu Dan Inosanto has repeatedly given Erik the highest praise, saying, "Erik started as my student, but now he teaches me as much as I teach him. He's amazing. He can just blend it all together and take grappling to a whole new level." To which Erik shakes his head "no", of course!

Sensei Paulson is without a doubt the greatest influence on our overall grappling program.

Dan Inosanto

Sifu, Guro, Sensei, Kru...his titles are many. He is the legendary Dan Inosanto. He has been named as one of the most influential martial artists of modern time and all time. He is best known as the best friend of Bruce Lee and the sole inheritor to his martial art system.

Guro Inosanto saw the value of BJJ and began fervently studying immediately. When I asked him about his training, he told me that he had about 7 different teachers, most of whom were the Machado Brothers and their students. He was logging in over 2000 hours a year! He achieved his black belt in about 4 years, which is EXTREMELY rare.
